Valentina Furian

Valentina Furian is an Italian visual artist working with experimental film, moving images, and time-based installations. Her practice examines the relationship between humans and the natural world, investigating the boundary between reality and fiction through a cinematic language that merges documentary and narrative strategies. Central to her research are interspecies relationships and the presence of the wild within everyday life. Her work engages with posthuman theory, challenging traditional concepts of identity while proposing a transversal perspective connecting humans, animals, and the Earth. A key theme in her practice is domestication as a historical and symbolic process shaping both animal and human existence. In 2025 she participated in ArtCity at the MAMbo Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna. She presented Notti Bianche at XNL Piacenza and took part in the Biennale Gherdëina. She has been artist in residence at Fundación PROA and exhibited at MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, among other international institutions.
