Inu Bere
Inu Bere (Sinorino Bere de Jesus) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist born in Aileu, Timor-Leste, in 1997. He holds a degree in Visual Arts from UNIVAP, São Paulo, Brazil. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across Timor-Leste, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Macau. Inu has participated in international artist residencies, including the Goethe-Institut’s REFLEKT program in Berlin (2024). He is the founder and director of Projeto Montanha, a non-governmental organization focused on art, education, and cultural development for young Timorese people. His artistic practice explores culture and identity through political, philosophical, and religious perspectives, addressing themes such as colonization and decolonization, tradition and modernity, freedom and constraint, and the tensions of everyday life.
