Ruth Cruz
Ruth Cruz is a visual artist, university lecturer, and researcher whose practice operates at the intersection of artistic creation, exhibition production, and academic research related to art, technology, and speculative practices. Her work explores the relationships between the body, contemporary media, and technological environments, reflecting on how these dynamics reshape perception, knowledge, and experience in contemporary culture.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Arts and Techno-Aesthetics at the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF, Argentina). She holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and New Media and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts of Ecuador, where she currently teaches in the School of Visual Arts.
In the field of exhibition production, she has worked as installer and production director in more than twenty exhibitions, collaborating with institutions such as the Museo Antropológico y de Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC), the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil, and the Museo del Cacao.
She was invited to the Ibero-American Biennial of Alcalá (Spain, 2023) and has participated as a workshop leader and speaker in international events. Her work has been recognized through programs and open calls such as TECBOXCULTURA, FAAL, Interactos UA, and the Bienal de Arte No Visual.
She currently lives and works in Guayaquil.
