Guillermo Moscoso
Guillermo Moscoso (Concepción, 1972) is a Chilean visual artist known for his work in performance and action art. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Concepción and, since the late 1990s, has developed an interdisciplinary practice that combines poetry, drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, installation, photography, and video.
Moscoso’s work is grounded in activism, addressing issues such as HIV/AIDS, violence, discrimination, and sexual dissidence. Through his performances, he challenges power structures and exposes mechanisms of control over bodies, using art as a vehicle for social critique.
He has participated in exhibitions and biennials across Chile and internationally, including the group show Anarchivosida with the performance Geno Sida (Centro Cultural Conde Duque, Spain, 2017), and 40 Actions for 40 Years Since the Coup (2013). In 2016, he presented a 20-year retrospective titled Memory and Activism at the University of Concepción’s Pinacoteca.
