Lecuona y Hernández

Beatriz Lecuona and Óscar Hernández, both Fine Arts graduates from the University of La Laguna (ULL), have been working collaboratively since 1999. Their practice merges visual arts with cultural theory and curatorial work. They are art theory specialists and former directors of the Contemporary Artistic Thought Program at ULL. Their work has been featured in over 80 national and international exhibitions, including the XI Havana Biennial, the X Cuenca Biennial (Ecuador), Dakar Off Biennial, and the Canary Islands Biennial. In recent years, they’ve expanded their reach across Latin America and the U.S., exhibiting and holding residencies in São Paulo, Lima, Miami, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Cuba, and Peru. Recent solo shows include Falso histórico (Adelina Galería, São Paulo), Eremía (IK Projects, Lima), and Tiempo y cosas (Bibli, Tenerife). Their work is part of notable collections including CajaCanarias, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, and Ideobox ArtSpace (Miami), as well as private collections like those of Hady Ang, Fabio Luchetti, and Antonio Ascaso. They are represented by Adelina Galería (Brazil) and IK Projects (Peru), and regularly curate exhibitions in the Canary Islands.
