German Gomez Uribe
Germán Gómez is a Colombian visual designer, artist, and researcher whose work connects artistic creation with historiographic research on images, materiality, and graphic practices in Colombia. His practice operates at the intersection of art, design, and visual studies, exploring graphic languages as vehicles of cultural memory and as tools for understanding social and aesthetic processes in Latin America.
Since the mid-2000s he has developed artistic, curatorial, and research projects focused on design history and visual culture. Early milestones include participation in the 40th National Salon of Artists in Colombia (2006). In 2013 he completed a Master’s degree in Aesthetics and Art History, expanding his research on historiographic approaches to visual practices.
His work has been presented internationally at Imagomundi – Venice Biennale (2015) and the XI Florence International Biennale of Art (2017), as well as at the International Image Festival in Manizales. Recent projects include Huella de Bosque (2022–2024) and the performative installation Machine Nature (2025), which explores interactions between natural organisms and technological systems.
