Belén Romero Gunset
Belén Romero Gunset (San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, 1983; lives and works in Buenos Aires) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans installation, object-based work, and performance. Her work investigates the relationships between body, matter, and technology, exploring how contemporary environments reshape perception, memory, and collective experience.
She graduated in Fine Arts from the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán in 2010 and is currently a PhD candidate in Technoaesthetics at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF). In 2010 she also participated in the Artists Program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella through a scholarship granted by Fundación YPF.
In recent years she has developed research and artistic projects in international contexts, including a research residency at Bildwechsel (Hamburg, Germany) in 2023 supported by the Oxenford Grant, and a residency at Atelier Mondial (Basel, Switzerland) in 2021. Her work has received several recognitions, including the 2nd Prize Fundación Andreani (2023) and the Institutional Award from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes at the National Salon of Rosario (2013), as well as grants from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes and the Argentine Ministry of Culture.
Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as MALBA, Fundación Proa, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Parque de la Memoria, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Faena Arts Center, and MUNTREF. Her works are part of public and private collections in Argentina.
