Jonnathan Mosquera
Jonnathan Mosquera (Cuenca, Ecuador, 1991) is a visual artist and graphic designer whose practice engages contemporary art, visual research and urban art. He holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Cuenca and a degree in Graphic Design from Instituto Superior Sudamericano. He also pursued graduate studies in Visual Anthropology at FLACSO (2019–2021), integrating artistic and anthropological approaches to explore image, territory and visual culture.
His work investigates urban narratives, symbolic displacement and social processes through media such as painting, drawing, installation and graphic practices. He has presented solo exhibitions including Infracciones at La Carretilla Project and Atlas Trashumante, analogías internas at Salida de Emergencia (2017).
Mosquera has participated in numerous collective exhibitions, including the II International Nómade Biennial in Cuenca (2018) and exhibitions at the Municipal Museum of Modern Art of Cuenca. His recognitions include the First Prize at the Magdalena Dávalos Visual Arts Salon (Riobamba, 2018), Second Prize at the Cañar Visual Arts Salon, and Third Prize at the Salón de Julio in Guayaquil. He has also participated in international urban art events such as Pictopía in Medellín and the Nuevo Mural NUMU Festival in Ecuador.
