Marisa Caichiolo
Marisa Caichiolo is an artist, curator and researcher specializing in contemporary art. She studied art history and curatorial studies and holds a PhD in Art History and Psychology. Her research focuses on the impact of social and political change on cultural production, developing projects that move between theory, curatorial practice and artistic research.
Her curatorial work explores cultural exchange and transnational artistic dialogue, creating platforms for collaboration between artists, institutions and communities. She has developed international curatorial projects presented at institutions such as the AMA Museum and the Museum of the United Nations in Washington DC, the Manhattan Beach Art Center (California), LUM Museum of Memory in Lima, the MUSA Museum of Arts of the University of Guadalajara (Mexico), the Kirchner Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, DOX Center for Contemporary Art in Prague, and the Frost Science Museum in Miami, among others.
She is the founder of Building Bridges International Art Foundation, a Los Angeles–based nonprofit dedicated to curatorial programs, artist residencies and educational initiatives. She has also been part of curatorial teams for international biennials including the Cuenca Biennial, Casablanca Biennale and Sharjah Biennale.
