Armando Ruiz Ramírez
Armando Ruiz Ramírez (Barranquilla, 1983) is a Colombian artist whose work reflects on violence as a human practice, examining how it shifts from the private and individual sphere to the political and public in the contexts of Colombia and Venezuela. His practice spans sculpture, artist’s books, video, performance, photography, and installation. He won the Photography Prize at the 4th Call for Stimuli of Cúcuta’s Secretariat of Culture (2021) and has participated in international residencies at El Avispero Artist Residency (Venezuela, 2019), Vila Flores (Brazil, 2017), and Plataforma Caníbal of Fundación Divulgar (Colombia, 2017). His work highlights violence’s imprints on bodies, communities, and collective memory.
