Cinthia Marcelle
Cinthia Marcelle (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1974) is a multimedia artist recognized for her work in photography, video, and installation. She studied at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, developing an artistic language marked by synthesis and precision. Inspired by everyday objects, places, and social interactions, Marcelle creates works that merge the ordinary with the poetic. She has held solo exhibitions at MoMA PS1 (New York) and Secession (Vienna), and participated in major international events including the Berlin Biennale (2018), Istanbul Biennial (2013), New Museum Triennial (2012), Sharjah Biennial (2015), and Venice Biennale (2017). Her early collaborative project Capa Morada (2003) with Jean Meeran gained critical recognition, while her installation Education by Stone (MoMA, 2016) became a landmark piece. She was awarded the Future Generation Art Prize in 2010 at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine.
