Tiago Mata Machado

Tiago Mata Machado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1973) is a multimedia artist, filmmaker, video artist, film critic, and curator. Trained in multimedia at the Instituto de Artes, Universidade Estadual de Campinas, he lives and works in Belo Horizonte. His feature films were awarded at the Brasília Film Festival (2010) and Berlinale (2011). Since 2008, he has collaborated with Cinthia Marcelle on experimental videos and co-founded Katásia Films with João Dumans. His work has been shown in international festivals and art events including the New Museum Triennial (New York, 2011), Rotterdam International Film Festival (2013), Semana dos Realizadores (Rio de Janeiro, 2014), Biennale of Moving Images (Geneva, 2016), and he represented Brazil at the Venice Biennale (2017).
