Franzisca Siegrist

Franzisca Siegrist (b. 1984, Switzerland) is a visual artist based in Oslo, Norway. Raised in the Canary Islands (Spain), she holds a Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna and a Master’s in Artistic Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Specializing in performance art for over 15 years, Siegrist also works with installations, video, objects, and photography in a performative context. Her work explores identity, migration, belonging, and social norms, often from a poetic and absurd aesthetic. Her long-term performance series include “Route of Roots” (2016–2019), “Sculptural Abstractions” (2019–2022), and the ongoing “Δx=xf−x0 (displacement)” (2022–). She has exhibited in 20+ countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas at festivals, museums, and institutions including TEA (Tenerife), Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo), Ex Teresa Arte Actual (Mexico City), and Grace Exhibition Space (NYC). Siegrist co-founded and led PAO – Performance Art Oslo (2012–2022), curating over 20 events and promoting 250+ artists. Since 2022, she works as an independent curator and advisor. She collaborates with Norwegian artist Susanne Irene Fjørtoft since 2009.
