Leonilda González
Leonilda González (1923–2017) was a prominent Uruguayan painter and printmaker from Colonia. She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes with Adolfo Pastor and in Paris with André Lhote and Fernand Léger. A member of the Montevideo Print Club and the Contemporary Plastic Artists Union, her work spans painting, woodcut, and illustration, winning awards in Buenos Aires, Havana, and Montevideo. She exhibited individually and in group shows across Latin America, and her works are held in public and private collections, including the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales and Museo Juan Manuel Blanes.
