Marcelo Burgos

Marcelo Martín Burgos (La Plata, Argentina, 1971) is a visual artist known for his playful and deconstructed sculptural work. He lives and works between Buenos Aires and Madrid. His practice focuses on reconnecting with the creative freedom of childhood. As he states, “This could have been made by a child" is the greatest compliment I seek in my work as a sculptor. I’ve spent most of my life trying to forget my artistic education, the history of art, and to dismantle the notion of self, aiming to recover the freedom and joy I felt making art as a child.” His work blends humor, critique, and a sensitive approach to form and artistic process. Alongside his career in contemporary art, Burgos is also an accomplished filmmaker, enriching his practice with a multidisciplinary and narrative-driven perspective.
