Mónica Muñoz Cid
Mónica Muñoz Cid was born in Puebla, Mexico, in 1970. A visual artist focused on printmaking, she earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from BUAP and a Master's in Visual Arts from UNARTE (2008). She refined her practice in workshops across Mexico and abroad. A member of Mexico’s National System of Art Creators since 2015, she won the José Guadalupe Posada National Printmaking Prize in 2011. Muñoz Cid has held ten solo shows in Mexico, Italy, Spain, and France, and over 120 group exhibitions worldwide. Her work explores sociocultural themes through experimental uses of printmaking. She runs Jacal Gráfico, a large-format print studio in Puebla, and teaches at UNARTE.
