Jenő Barcsay
Jenő Barcsay (1900, Katona – 1988, Budapest) was a prominent Hungarian painter and art teacher associated with cubism and modern art. He studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and continued his education in Paris and Italy. Influenced by Cézanne, he developed a geometric abstraction style. Barcsay taught composition and artistic anatomy at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, shaping generations of artists. He lived in Szentendre, a hub of Hungarian 20th-century art. In 1954, he received the prestigious Kossuth Prize.
