Estrella Herrera

Estrella Herrera (Buenos Aires, 1984) is a photographer and visual artist with a degree in Arts from the University of Buenos Aires. Her practice explores the materiality of photography and its translations, crossing over into performance and video. Between 2014–2017, she co-directed NidoErrante with Agustina Triquell, a mobile residency for Latin American artists. She studied at the School of Fine Arts at UFMG (Brazil) with an Escala scholarship (2009) and joined the UTDT Film Program (2022). Herrera has received grants from Argentina’s National Arts Fund (2014, 2016, 2021, 2022) and PAC FOTO (2017). Her series Campo Magnético won First Prize at the Verzasca Photography Festival (Switzerland, 2017). In 2023, her project Orden y procedencia won Syncro Film Fest, and her short film Sexto Continente screened at the 37th Mar del Plata International Film Festival. Since 2015, she has worked for Revista Lugares and published Tourism as a Right (2023). She teaches photography at Creadores de Imágenes.
