Francisca Jiménez Ortegate

Francisca Jiménez Ortegate (1993, Colombia) is a visual artist graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her work spans photography, video, new media, and electronic arts, focusing on processes like unarchiving, fictionalizing, and associating images with text. She explores territory, language, and the body through a critical and sensitive lens, creating fictions from altered archives. Her practice reinterprets visual languages and questions representation and identity in political, historical, and emotional contexts. Since 2018, she co-directs Tormenta ediciones, a publishing project she founded, where she creates books as artistic objects.
