Grupo Tartagal
The Tartagal Group was an art collective active in Salta during the 1940s and 1950s, formed by Gertrudes Chale, Luis Preti, Raúl Brie, and Carybé. Coming from different cities, the artists converged in a culturally emerging Salta, building both a close friendship and a powerful body of work. Their production brought a fresh and sensitive perspective to the visual arts of the time. Decades later, their contributions were fully recognized as foundational to the development of contemporary art in Argentina's northwest region.
