Esdras Gianella

Esdras Gianella (Buenos Aires, 1916 – Salta, 2010) was a sculptor, goldsmith, ceramist, and educator. He graduated as a Professor of Sculpture from the Ernesto de la Cárcova School in 1944. In 1948, he traveled to Europe sponsored by the Buenos Aires Municipality and lectured at the Sorbonne. Settling in Salta in 1956, he became a key educator and rector at the Tomás Cabrera School of Fine Arts. He founded workshops in ceramics, crafts, and artistic culture. His sculpture evolved from naturalism to figurative synthesis, noted for its formal precision and volume. He earned awards in municipal and regional salons and was also recognized for his work as a goldsmith and ceramist.
