Miro Barraza
José Delmiro (Miro) Barraza (Coquimbo, Chile, 1940 – Salta, 2024) was a painter, printmaker, set designer, and educator who lived in Salta from early childhood. He studied at the Provincial School of Visual Arts Tomás Cabrera, where he met artists Carlos Luis García Bes and Luis Pretti. Barraza took part in over forty exhibitions in Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia, and received numerous awards in Salta’s provincial and municipal art salons. His work is deeply connected to the landscapes and ancestral essence of northwest Argentina.
