Yefu Liu
Liu Yefu (born 1986, Beijing) is an artist known for his work in video and mixed materials, exploring chaos and social realities through black humor and stream of consciousness. Influenced by Chinese folk culture, Liu addresses themes of ideology, history, and memory through daily life scenes and carefully selected ready-made products. His solo exhibitions include Fool's Paradise (Magician Space, Beijing, 2022) and Hehemeimei (Art Basel, Basel, 2021). He has also participated in major group exhibitions such as Economy of Means (Gabrovo Biennale, 2022) and Performing Society (Tai Kwun, Hong Kong, 2019). His works are included in prestigious international collections, and Liu has received multiple awards. He earned his BA from Capital Normal University in Beijing and his MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
