Alette Simmons Jiménez

Alette Simmons-Jiménez, a renowned American artist based in Miami, integrates diverse media such as painting, collage, video, and installation in her practice, exploring human/nature relationships and hybrid approaches to art-making. With a BFA from Newcomb College, she began her career in the Dominican Republic and has exhibited internationally, including at MOAS (Daytona Beach, 2022), Palm Beach ICA (2001), and MOMA Santo Domingo (1997). Her recent accomplishments include her immersive work The Rain Room at the Florida Biennial (2023) and large-scale public art installations commissioned by Oolite Arts for Miami Beach (2024). Simmons-Jiménez’s contributions extend beyond her art practice, founding the Artformz Alternative collective and hosting the popular Art & Company Podcast, highlighting South Florida’s art community.
