Ana Vaz
Ana Vaz (1986) is a Brazilian filmmaker and artist born in the midwest region, shaped by the ghosts buried beneath the modernist capital, Brasília. Her work interrogates cinema as an art of the (in)visible, forging connections with non-human and spectral forms of life.
A wanderer by choice, Vaz has lived in diverse landscapes, from Brazil’s arid lands and Australia’s south to France’s mangroves. Her practice extends beyond film to include writing, critical pedagogy, installations, and collective walks. As a founding member of the COYOTE collective, she bridges ecology and political science through experimental formats.
