Adriana Miranda

Born in San Juan, Argentina, in 1969, this celebrated artist began her studies at the School of Film of Avellaneda. Her artistic journey was profoundly influenced by two mentors: Liliana Maresca, an acclaimed artist with whom she collaborated for over four years, and renowned photographer Juan Travnik. Throughout her career, she has earned several prestigious accolades, including the National Arts Fund grant (1990), Antorchas Foundation grant (1994), PROA Visual Arts Workshop grant (1994), and the Fulbright scholarship (1996), which enabled her to study photo editing under Fred Ritchin at NYU. She lived in New York for a decade, and from 1999, she began working in Mexico City’s La Panadería residency, contributing to projects curated by Michèle Faguet. In 2007, she settled in Buenos Aires, receiving the Banco Nación Foundation grant in 2009 for her project “El espacio de acá” and winning the arteBA-Petrobras National Visual Arts Prize in 2010. Since 2013, she has been living and working in San Juan, collaborating with historian and writer Irina Podgorny on numerous publications. Her works are included in prominent international collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, the Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires (MALBA), the Techint Foundation, the Franklin Rawson Museum of Fine Arts in San Juan, The Dilenschneider Group Collection in New York, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, the Castagnino-Macro Museum in Rosario, the Reina Sofía Museum in Spain, and the Museum of Modern Art of Medellín (MAMM) in Colombia.
