French visual artist Catherine Burki (b. 1976) lives and works in Marseille. With a background in Fine Arts and Sociology, her work is rooted in a social perspective, and she has participated in artist residencies in Vietnam, Hungary, and Finland.
While drawing remains central to her artistic practice, Burki also creates installations, video montages, and sculptures, exploring the connection between humans, nature, and the fragility of our world. Her work invites both contemplation and reflection on contemporary issues.
She has exhibited at Urban Gallery in Marseille (2019), at the GT space at Mund Art (2020), and in a major collective exhibition on tourism at the Espace des Arts in Mitry-Mory (93), curated by Marie Departis.
