Jonathan Perel

Jonathan Perel, Argentine filmmaker and artist born in 1976, lives and works in Buenos Aires. He studied Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Buenos Aires. He directed several feature films, including Camouflage (2022), Corporate Accountability (2020), Toponymy (2015), 17 Monuments (2012), El Predio (2010) and short films such as Tabula Rasa (2013), 5-T-2 Ushuaia (2016), Las Aguas del Olvido (2013), Los Murales (2011), and 5 (cinco) (2008). His work has received international recognition, including the Special Jury Prize at Bafici 2022 and 2021, Best Director at Bafici 2021, Critic’s Award at FIDMarseille 2015, and the Documenta 2020 Award. His films have been screened at major film festivals such as Berlinale, Viennale, IDFA, FIDMarseille, and Documenta. His works have been exhibited at venues such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York.
