Nicolás Martella
Nicolás Martella (La Plata, 1978). He lives and works in Buenos Aires. He studied under Ataulfo Pérez Aznar, Juan Travnik, and Gabriel Valansi. He participated in the UTDT Film Lab, led by Martín Rejtman and Andrés Di Tella. In 2014, he completed a residency at the Arteles Creative Center in Haukijärvi, Finland. Solo exhibitions: New Economy (2021) at Galería Isla Flotante; The Reality of Light (2018) at the Emilio Pettoruti Provincial Museum of Fine Arts; The Day Is an Attack (2016) and Slideshow (2013), both at Galería Isla Flotante; Contemporáneas (2007) at the Rojas Photo Gallery. Visual Language (2023) UNLP Art Center and Style and Iconography (2021) Quimera Gallery (both in collaboration with Manuel A. Fernández). Since 2004, she has participated in group exhibitions in Argentina and abroad. In 2020, she received an Activar Patrimonio grant. Her work received awards at the 99th Annual National Salon of Santa Fe – Rosa Galsiteo Museum (2022), the 107th National Salon of Visual Arts. Photography (2018); 102nd National Salon of Visual Arts, New Media and Installations (2013); Argentine Visual Arts Award – OSDE Foundation (2006).
