Daniel Basso is an Argentine visual artist born in 1974 in Mar del Plata. His work merges sculpture and design, drawing influences from architecture, furniture, and industrial culture. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Artes Visuales in Mar del Plata and has been developing his artistic practice since 2002.
He has received grants from Fundación Antorchas, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Fundación Telefónica, and the Oxenford Foundation. In 2009, he founded Mundo Dios, a contemporary art space in Mar del Plata. His work has been exhibited in national and international institutions, including The Metamorphosis of the Ruby (Fundación F. J. Klemm, 2022) and Cooking as Performance (Cologne, Germany). In 2019, he won the 1st ITAU Prize in Visual Arts and completed a residency in Basel, Switzerland.
His installations play with scale and material culture, transforming spaces into immersive experiences that envelop the viewer in a sensorial and psychedelic environment.
