Joan Fontcuberta

Joan Fontcuberta, born in Barcelona in 1955, is an internationally acclaimed photographer and theorist. Founder of PhotoVision magazine and recipient of the Hasselblad International Photography Award in 2013, his work challenges the truthfulness of photographic images and their societal role. His art has been exhibited at the MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and IVAM in Valencia, and is part of collections at the MACBA and Museo Reina Sofía.
