Daniel Mayrit is a Spanish photographer and visual artist born in 1985 in Madrid. His work examines the role of photography in sociopolitical contexts, exploring digital manipulation and contemporary visual technologies.
Trained at Complutense University of Madrid, Copenhagen University, and the University of Westminster in London, he has exhibited at PhotoEspaña, Barbican Center, Benaki Museum, and FOMU Antwerp. His photobooks You Haven’t Seen Their Faces and Imágenes Autorizadas have received international acclaim, with the former winning the Aperture Award at Paris Photo 2015.
Currently, he teaches at LENS Escuela de Artes Visuales and has lectured at Fundación Telefónica and various European universities.
