Acácio Piedade (Brazil, 1961) is a renowned Brazilian-Portuguese composer known for his research and musical creations. Trained in composition under Almeida Prado and others, he holds a PhD in Anthropology focusing on Indigenous Amazonian music. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Sorbonne and Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt – Weimar. His award-winning works have been performed at festivals across Latin America and Europe. A former full professor at the State University of Santa Catarina, he currently resides in Lisbon.
