Eduardo Arroyo
Eduardo Arroyo (1937-2018) was a Spanish figurative painter, a leading figure in narrative figuration and Spanish Neofiguration, with influences from pop art. Exiled in Paris in 1958 due to his anti-Franco stance, his work critically and satirically addressed Spanish history.
He participated in the III Paris Biennale (1963) and Daily Mythologies at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris (1964). His polyptych Live and Let Die or the Tragic End of Marcel Duchamp (1965), housed in the Museo Reina Sofía, is a landmark of narrative figuration. His work is included in major international collections, cementing his influence in contemporary art.
