Dawolu Jabari Anderson
Dawolu Jabari Anderson (b. 1973, Houston, Texas) is a renowned visual artist with an academic background from Texas Southern University and the University of Houston. His work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, the Blaffer Gallery, and Project Row Houses. Anderson held his first solo exhibition at Art League Houston in 2005. He participated in the 2006 Whitney Biennial: Day for Night and was a resident at the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He also contributed to a traveling exhibition at the Palazzo Delle Papesse in Italy and was a finalist for the 2007 Arthouse Texas Prize. Anderson's political cartoon Bailout was featured in Fine Arts Leisure for the New York Times, solidifying his impact on contemporary art.
