Carlos Saavedra

Carlos Saavedra, a Colombian photographer based between Bogotá and Cartagena, specializes in photojournalism and documentary photography. Holding an MA in Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London, he has exhibited in prestigious museums and festivals such as MAMBO Bogotá, Pride Photo Awards in Amsterdam, and Photo 2022 in Melbourne. His series Las hijas de Huitaca has been featured by National Geographic and the BBC. He has lectured at the United Nations and universities in London and Bogotá. His work focuses on identity, memory, and marginalized communities, establishing him as a key figure in Latin American documentary photography.
