Hernán Pitto Bellocchio
Hernán Pitto Bellocchio (Santiago de Chile, 1984) is a Chilean contemporary artist and architect based in Buenos Aires. His interdisciplinary practice merges contemporary painting, drawing, and site-specific installations, exploring the intersection of art and architecture through ecological and conceptual frameworks. He studied Architecture at Universidad Finisterrae and completed a Master’s degree in “Idea in Exhibition Design: Architettura dell’esporre” at the Politecnico di Milano, beginning his professional career at La Triennale di Milano.
His artistic research focuses on redefining the relationship between nature and the urban environment, envisioning future utopias linked to the mythologies of the Americas. Breathing has become a central theme, drawing parallels between lungs and trees while connecting contemporary art with ecology, medicine, and botany. His work investigates underground urban ecosystems and organic structures as symbolic explorations of the city’s origins.
He has exhibited at Manifesta (Palermo), Fondazione Merz (Turin), Montrasio Arte (Milan), Art Düsseldorf, Bienal Sur (Buenos Aires), Salone del Mobile (Milan), and The Pool NYC.
