Adriana Ciudad, a Peruvian-German visual artist, has lived and worked in Bogotá, Colombia, since 2014. She earned her master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK), establishing an international career. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious venues such as Museo La Tertulia in Cali, NC-arte in Bogotá, Casa del Lago in Mexico City, Y Gallery in New York, and SACO in Antofagasta.
She has received significant grants and awards, including the PNUD Grant from the United Nations Development Program in 2018, the DAAD scholarship in 2012 for a project in Los Angeles, and the Painting Grant from the Dorothea Konwiarz Foundation in Berlin between 2010 and 2011. Her participation in artist residencies includes Lugar a Dudas in Cali, SACO in Antofagasta, Commonwealth & Council Gallery in Los Angeles, and TUPAC – Visual Creation Center in Lima.
Her work addresses social, political, and environmental issues in Latin America, utilizing visual metaphors and poetic languages to challenge artistic boundaries. With an innovative approach that combines painting, drawing, sound, and installation, she creates pieces that provoke visceral reactions and inspire critical reflection on Latin American reality.
