Darren Almond

Darren Almond is a British artist born in 1971 in Wigan, known for his work in photography, sculpture, installation, and film. His Fullmoons series, started in 1998, captures landscapes illuminated solely by the full moon using long exposures, creating images that appear to be taken in daylight. In 2000, he explored time in Meantime, filming a shipping container transformed into a digital clock crossing the ocean. In 2006, he directed In the Between, documenting the world’s highest railway between Tibet and China. A Turner Prize finalist in 2005, he has exhibited at the Berlin Biennale, the Moscow Biennale, and the Tate Triennial. He currently lives and works in London.
