Ines Doujak

Ines Doujak (Austria, 1959) is a visual artist based in Vienna. Her practice encompasses installation, textile, drawing, and performance to address power relations linked to colonialism, gender, and economic exploitation. She is known for works that employ sharp humour and bodily transgression as critical tools. Her work has been exhibited at the Museo Reina Sofía—where in 2015 the removal of one of her pieces sparked an international debate on institutional censorship—as well as at the Van Abbemuseum, the Kunsthalle Wien, and the Venice Biennale. She frequently collaborates with researchers and social movements, integrating historical archive and political documentation into her artistic productions.
