Dagoberto Rodríguez is a Cuban artist who merges architecture, design, and sculpture to explore political and social issues with humor and irony. Since the 1990s, he has lived a nomadic life, setting up studios in Havana, Los Angeles, New York, and Madrid, where he currently resides.
Despite the dissolution of Los Carpinteros in 2019, he continues to embrace a collaborative practice based on interdisciplinarity and co-creation. Watercolor plays a vital role in his creative process, allowing him to document and refine ideas that explore conceptual metaphors and symbols.
Rodríguez defines his art as poetic activism, a way to generate awareness and public opinion on political matters without attempting to change governments. His work has been exhibited in major museums and biennales worldwide.
