Daniah Alsaleh

Daniah Al Saleh is a Saudi artist born in 1970 in Riyadh, whose work examines cultural conditioning and identity formation. She deconstructs everyday elements—objects, sounds, and symbols—to uncover their implications in memory, social connectivity, and cultural division. Her visually appealing approach subtly disguises a deep critique of human vulnerability and the fragility of societal structures. In her early work, Al Saleh used Islamic geometry to elevate ordinary objects into unexpected focal points. Her artistic evolution accelerated after earning an MFA in Computational Arts from Goldsmiths University (2020), leading her to explore digital and interactive media. In Sawtam (2019), created for the Ithra Art Prize, she worked with Arabic phonemes, while in That Which Remains (2022), exhibited at the Diriyah Biennale, she explored Saudi collective memory through technological installations. Her work sits at the intersection of art and technology, redefining cultural representation in the digital era.
