Irina Novarese

Irina Novarese (Turin, Italy) is a visual artist working with mixed media installations, editions, and video. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Accademia Albertina (Turin) and an MA in Art in Context from the UdK Berlin. Her work explores affinities with urban spaces, mapping poetic connections between urbanity and language, often through site-specific projects. She has exhibited internationally in solo and group shows, including the 10th Venice Architecture Biennale (2006), the 2nd Ghetto Biennale (Haiti, 2012), the 12th Havana Biennial (2015), BIENALSUR (2021), and POSVERSO Biennial (2024). Participation and collectivity are central to her practice, where she also works as organizer and curator. Novarese is affiliated with programs such as HIER&JETZT: Connections (Berlin), The Watch (Berlin), and MING Studios (USA). Her works are held in public and private collections, including MUFOCO, GAM Turin, and ARTPHILEIN Foundation. She is represented by Canèm Gallery, Spain.
