Mapa Teatro

Mapa Teatro is an artists' laboratory founded in Bogotá in 1984 by Heidi and Rolf Abderhalden, based between Colombia and France. Its interdisciplinary practice brings together theatre, performance, visual arts, and video in long-term investigations into memory, territory, and community. Among its most recognised projects are El Proyecto Prometeo and a series of works derived from the demolition of El Cartucho, a historic neighbourhood in Bogotá. It has been presented at the Festival d'Automne in Paris, the Théâtre du Soleil, the MACBA, the Centre Pompidou, and international performance and theatre biennials. It received the Colombian National Award for Dramatic Art and is a fundamental reference in contemporary Latin American live art.
