Alberto Ortega Trejo, originally from Mexico, is a multidisciplinary designer and artist based in Chicago, USA. He earned an MFA from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds a BSc in Architecture from Universidad de La Salle Pachuca. His work reflects a unique intersection of art and architecture, exploring themes of space, culture, and design.
Ortega Trejo has been recognized with grants from the Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, highlighting his contributions to contemporary art and design. In addition to his creative practice, he serves as the coordinator of public programs at the Katz Center for Mexican Studies at the University of Chicago, fostering dialogue and collaboration around Mexican culture and studies.
