Carlos Colín

Carlos Colín (b. 1980, Guadalajara) is a visual artist and educator based between Mexico City and Vancouver. A PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia, his work examines baroque aesthetics as a colonial legacy in Latin America and migration processes. His exhibitions include BIENALSUR 2021, AWA Cultura, The Reach Gallery Museum, Sur Gallery, and the Rufino Tamayo Museum. He was awarded the Emerging Artist prize at Vancouver’s Mayor’s Arts Awards (2016) and the Artist Studio Award Program (2017). He is represented by Fazakas Gallery.
