Patricia Araujo

Patrícia Araujo was born in 1987 in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, and has lived in São Paulo since 2009. She is a visual artist, educator and holds a master degree in Visual Arts from the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo. Her practice investigates the body and memory through photography, performance and audiovisual creation, weaving dialogues between intimate and political dimensions through games, encounters and video productions. She directs the audiovisual production company Aterro and teaches in the Audiovisual program at Senac São Paulo. She presented her first solo exhibition, O corpo é eu: diários sobre a distância, at Zipper Galeria in São Paulo in 2014, curated by Galciani Neves. She has taken part in group exhibitions at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, the Museu da América Latina and Sesc Belenzinho, all in São Paulo, and in the exhibition Pensamiento Salvaje as part of BienalSur, at the Centro Cultural del Bicentenario in Buenos Aires, in 2017.
