Scenocosme
Scenocosme is the artist name of the duo formed by Anaïs met den Ancxt, born in 1981 in Lyon, France, and Grégory Lasserre, born in 1976 in Annecy, France. They have worked together since 2003 and live in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Anaïs met den Ancxt trained at the Lyon National School of Fine Arts and the Saint-Étienne School of Art and Design, with studies in anthropology; Grégory Lasserre holds a master degree in multimedia and diplomas in computer science and electronics. Their joint practice develops interactive sound and visual installations for which they design their own software, incorporating natural elements such as plants, water, stones and wood as sensors responsive to electrostatic energy and body heat. Their work Akousmaflore, a garden of real plants that emit sound on contact, is held in the collection of the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany. They have presented their work in numerous museums, contemporary art centers and international digital art festivals.
