Lucila Gradin

Lucila Gradín was born in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, in 1981, and lives and works in Buenos Aires. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes and completed her training at the Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas in 2011. Her practice moves from painting toward textile and installation work, based on natural dyes and mordants obtained from medicinal and dye plants, developed in collaboration with homeopaths, healers and farmers. She has held solo exhibitions at the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado in São Paulo, the Centro Cultural Recoleta and the Fondo Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires, and took part in group exhibitions at the Casa Nacional del Bicentenario and BienalSur. Her work has been featured at the Museo MARCO and the Centro Cultural Kirchner. She received grants from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, the Vermont Studio Center in the United States and the Robert Sterling Clark grant, along with residencies in Spain and Brazil. She co-directs the collective A.L.A. with Fernanda Vilela.
