Taller popular de Serigrafía

The Taller Popular de Serigrafía (Popular Silkscreen Workshop) emerged in Buenos Aires in the context of the 2001 Argentine crisis as a tool of graphic production in the service of social movements. Composed of artists and activists, the workshop produced images collectively and in the streets, intervening in marches, neighbourhood assemblies, and pickets. Its practice drew on the tradition of Latin American political agitation print workshops, updating it with a participatory and horizontal dimension. The images produced circulated in public spaces and were also exhibited in institutional contexts, including the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires and international exhibitions of political art and visual activism.
